It's week two on my
Jenny Craig journey, and I have to say this process has been great for me. Generally, I'm not a very disciplined person when it comes to food, I love food, sometimes a little too much. That's why this program has been wonderful for me, everything is laid out on a calendar to follow. I also get to add additional food to my prepared meals with the help of my Getting Started Guide. It's all about making the right choices, instead of picking up that cookie, go for the vegetables (listed on the Fresh & Free Additions page in the Guide. There are many choices of foods I can add to my already delicious meal. During lunch, I have a nice hearty salad and having the vegetables already washed in my refrigerator is super helpful to make a quick salad.
An example of a breakfast I had this week (which varies each day), Garden Vegetable Frittata, 1/2 fruit & 1 Milk which I substituted for nonfat Greek Yogurt. It was delicious!

I'm also learning what works with my body thanks to the Jenny Craig DNA Weight Loss Kit included in the Rapid Results Program. There were a few things that really stood out about my DNA. It was clear I am not getting enough sleep and with a two-year-old who doesn't sleep well that couldn't be more accurate. Sleep is very important for your body to recharge and without enough sleep, you're definitely doing a disservice to yourself, which I'm now working on. Also with this program, the 12 hour intermittent fast at night allows my body to rest and digest. So if I finish eating at 7:00 pm I will not eat until the next morning at 7:00 am.  I have more energy throughout the day thanks to this lifestyle adjustment!

I also found out it may be challenging to lose weight and keep it off, but I was provided lots of tools and suggestions from Jenny Craig, which I'm very thankful for. Also, my body was above average for tendency to crave sweet foods. Some tips Jenny Craig suggested since sugar is hidden everywhere - like specialty coffee drinks to condiments like BBQ sauce, they suggested ditching any beverage that contains added sugar - soda, cocktails, and sports drinks. Instead drink water or even sparkling water with some cucumber or lime wedges for extra flavor. I've definitely incorporated more water into my day, it also helps maintain that sense of fullness.  is a great tip because even that creamer I was adding to my coffee before Jenny Craig had a lot of unnecessary sugar. Before the program, I was also eating ice cream late at night... I'm happy to report I have not had ice cream since Jenny Craig! But don't worry I'm still having great snacks. Jenny Craig is a proven program that you can trust; it has been named a top weight loss program for 10 years straight by U.S. News & World Report. With their latest program, My Rapid Results gives members a custom-fit weight loss plan based on their genetic profile, designed to help optimize their weight loss success.

With the Rapid Results Program, it's been helpful because, not only am I told exactly what I should eat, but it's right there in my fridge/freezer waiting for me. As a mom to three children, I often help everyone else before myself so this ensures I am eating just enough balanced foods and nutrients throughout the day.  I not only feel better about myself, but I can even see a slight difference when I look in the mirror and feel it when trying on my clothes. * Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program

I sauteed fresh spinach and mushrooms (without any oil) and it was a perfect addition to my dinner.

Each week I meet with my Weight Loss Coach PJ and she is so encouraging and full of wonderful information while on my Jenny Craig Journey.
When I got on the scale, she saw I lost another pound and was so excited for me. Her passion and excitement is so encouraging. * Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program

My personal center is in a local Walgreens in Cypress and is super convenient.
The resources are not like anything I've ever experienced, you can call the 800 number for the Jenny Craig Center with questions, also the handy Getting Started Guide, The Jenny Craig App and of course the wonderful Weight Loss Coach.

Visit jenny.craig.com/walgreens or Walgreens.com/Findcare on the Walgreens mobile app to see if there is a location near you.
Since starting the program I have also made more of an effort to go outside and walk/run/bike ride. Just being more active overall and I include my family on this outdoor adventure too!

What my food day looks like this:
