The Jenny Craig Program Is Getting Me Through This Time - Week 7

Do you ever feel just not yourself? Maybe bloated, kind of tired, pants not fitting comfortably? Well, that’s how I was feeling before I began my Jenny Craig journey. With the Jenny Craig Rapid Results, I was able to have my DNA tested and I found out a lot of different things about my personal DNA and how certain things like carbohydrate, exercise, lack of sleep all affects people differently. The results helped me to make some changes to my life.  I’m extra busy now teaching my kids at home and raising a toddler while the country is dealing with COVID-19. I’m so thankful that I have this program, especially during this time because it’s ensuring that I’m eating a full days worth of food packed with lots of vegetables and just the right foods for my body. Throughout the program I have not only been eating better for my body I am learning a lot along the way. I have cut out the ridiculous amount of sugar I was intaking previously and I don’t miss it. I drink water all day long, I’m getting more rest at night, and increasing my walking.  So far I have lost about 7 pounds!  Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program. ‡ Results may vary. Overall I have more energy, not bloated and feel the difference when I put my clothes on. Another important factor on this program is getting a 12-hour break through the night. So if my last meal ends at 7pm I won’t eat until 7am the next morning. Learn more here.
At first, I was very worried about this part because my body was programmed so differently as I would wake up each morning so hungry. I’m happy to report that is not the case now, my body is being trained for the night fast and it’s been great. This also helped me to be aware of how late I was eating before, I’m now making an effort to feed my family a little earlier in the evening as it’s best for all of us. Jenny Craig the food is delicious, it's chef-crafted menu that provides 3 meals and 2 snacks every day and over 100 food options that are all ready to eat in 5 minutes or less!  

The food is also very easy to take along with you too. Below I'm taking a few minutes out of the day to have breakfast (by myself) outside enjoying the delicious Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, remember don't forget about taking care of you along this journey 



Example Of My Day:
-After 12 hours of fasting through the night, when I wake up I don’t feel tired!
-I weigh myself and add that information on my food schedule
-Eat Breakfast
-In a couple of hours, have my Jenny Craig Protein Bar
-Eat Lunch which includes 2 cups of salad

-Afternoon snack is a fruit
-Dinner with an additional vegetable

-Evening snacks are sometimes a dessert or a chip type of snack or a kettle corn

With every meal and in between I make sure to have water or even a sugar-free seltzer with the flavor. Each meal has been packed with a lot of flavor there are some seasonings you can add to it and all that information is in the amazing getting started booklet, but truthfully I haven’t had to add anything.  
I also tried something new this week, as suggested on the packet for simple inspiration. I blended coffee, Jenny Craig Vanilla Cream Shake Mix, ice and made a tasty coffee treat and took along during my daily walk. I'm making sure to take a little time for myself and get outside, fresh air and exercise. 


So interesting learning about my DNA results, they told me about 15 different markers with insight on 5 key elements. How the body processes food, how my body responds to exercise, my sleep quality (which was poor), my eating behaviors, lastly my metabolism. It confirmed that I am more inclined to have sugar crazings and eat sweets in excess and there were some suggestions on ways to deal with this.   
During this time once the results are reviewed it's determined what food program you should be on. I remained on the 1200 menu because it works best with my DNA results.  love the Jenny Craig Anywhere program because it delivers my food every two weeks I right to my front door in a dry ice, it’s super convenient.  My menu and plan have been carefully selected specifically for me based on my DNA profile. What’s interesting about this process as I am actually eating more than I did before starting a Jenny Craig program but I’m eating the right amount of calories and proteins so my daily calorie intake.
