Jenny Craig Week 8 - My Progress

This article highlights my journey with Jenny Craig for the week of April 20th

Since COVID-19 kind of put a wrench in plans we had for camping, we had to be a little creative and bring the camping to us, in our backyard. Luckily I was able to have a fun time with the kids and still enjoy my Jenny Craig food. I had a great dinner, even Jenny Craig Snack, and woke up and had my delicious Garden Vegetable Frittata, featuring garden veggies and cheeses, topped with garlic croutons and baked to perfection, so much flavor! (picture featured on the top of the article)  I'm still living a busy mom life where I can balance food and activity without depriving myself of anything! 

Before I began the Jenny Craig Rapid Results program I was kind of in a bit of a health rut. My son turned 2 in December, I'm older than I was with my other two children so I find it harder for weight to come off, I was not focussing on myself, honestly, self-care was very minimum. I would tell myself, ok maybe tomorrow I'll go on a walk, maybe tomorrow I'll eat healthier. But that "tomorrow" finally came when I stepped foot inside my local Walgreens to meet with my fabulous consultant PJ, find your closest location here.  She explained the program, learned about what I was hoping for and she made me feel like we were in this together and weeks later that proved to be the case. As of right now, I've lost a total of 8 pounds. Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program. ‡ Results may vary. I can feel a difference in my waist area, clothes are fitting much better now. 

From week one to now I have to say the top five things I have enjoyed most about the Rapid Results Program is:
- Learning about my DNA and how it works with my everyday life from food, sleep (or lack thereof), and even exercise.
- Having a weekly plan of all the food I should eat, from breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
- Tasty meals that cook in under 5 minutes waiting for me in my freezer.
- Feeling better, internally, and externally.
- My weekly consultations with PJ because she has been a positive help. 


Each meal has been tastier than the next. I love the flavor, it's just enough seasoning for me I never have to add anything additional. Below is an example of my breakfast.

A few things I have also increased as a result of beginning this program is going on daily walks or bike rides with my family, drinking more water, and eating a lot of vegetables. In fact, I'm eating a salad (2 cups with lunch) and an added vegetable with my dinner, definitely, more than I was eating before. I also can snack on certain vegetables throughout the day!  A helpful tip, carry a water bottle with you throughout the day, this will help keep you on track with your water, it helps me.  Learn more here about the program.  Jenny Craig's planned menu is a balance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and reduced-fat dairy products. My menu and plan have been carefully selected specifically for me based on my DNA profile. What’s interesting about this process as I am actually eating more than I did before starting a Jenny Craig program but I’m eating the right amount of calories and proteins so my daily calorie intake. It's also taught me about portion control and eating throughout the day. Another thing I plan on continuing is intermittent fasting because giving my body 12 hours of rest (with no food throughout the evening) has been working for me, it's also helping me to sleep better and wake up with more energy, and surprisingly not hungry in the morning.

I love the Jenny Craig Anywhere program because it delivers my food every two weeks I right to my front door in dry ice, it’s super convenient.  My menu and plan have been carefully selected specifically for me based on my DNA profile. I've had so much wonderful information available, from the website to The Getting Started Guide which is packed with lots of great information and you can even view it on the app. Also on the app are the milestones, DNA results, visual cues for portion sizes and so much more.
