What I'm Learning About Myself - Week 3 Jenny Craig

April 13, 2020

Thank you, Jenny Craig, for sponsoring this post. Can a test help you learn how to best lose weight, based on your genetic profile? Try Jenny Craig’s most customized plan ever and learn more about how you can best work with your body to lose weight.

I have to start off by saying I'm proud of myself, yes it's ok to be proud of yourself. I don't think I have ever stuck with anything this long when it comes to consciously eating right.  I'm weak and I'll be the first to admit it. The Jenny Craig program has everything outlined for me and it's been so easy to follow. I get the food delivered every 2 weeks from Jenny Craig, so all I have to do is get some vegetables, fruits, and dairy that I would normally be getting anyway for my family so it's been an easy transition. Do you ever eat a meal and feel bloated after? I can usually feel it in my hands and feet after I eat a meal that is too salty. Since starting this program, I have not had that feeling at all! In fact, my energy is also up because I'm not eating until I really shouldn't be (you know that feeling of over fullness). It's been a great feeling overall.
Here's a little overview of my program so far, from the beginning until now, week 3.

First I met with my coach PJ, at a local Walgreens (there is a Jenny Craig office conveniently located right in Walgreens!)  Find a Walgreens here.
We talked about my goals, expectations and what I could expect from the Rapid Results program. She helped answer any questions I had, which were very few because she really went over so much valuable information. She also measured & weighed me so we could see the progress each week, and so far I have lost 1 inch and 3 pounds! Jenny Craig is a proven program that you can trust; it has been named a top diet for 10 years straight by U.S. News & World Report.
* Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program

Once I received my food delivery I was able to start my well laid out program.
It consists of breakfast, a Jenny Craig snack, lunch (with 2 cups of salad), a snack - typically a piece of fruit, dinner and a Jenny Craig snack. Although I am eating throughout the day it's well planned out with the right amount of fat, protein, calories, salt, etc. so it just works with the body to help you achieve your goal. By following this program it's ensuring I'm eating more fruits and vegetables than I was previously which is a great thing! A very important element of the Jenny Craig Rapid Results Program is making sure you are not eating for 12 hours, so during this process, you are training your body - if I finished eating at 7pm I won't eat again until 7am the next morning. This way your body is digesting and resting and ready for you the next day!

Since my day consists of taking care of other people such as my kids, I often forget to eat the fruits and vegetables that I should be, and I love how this program incorporates it into my daily meal plan. Also a key element of being a healthier me, I’m drinking more water than before, making sure that I drink it throughout the day and have cut out any sodas too! I’ve also incorporated more activities like walking outside, and I do this with my family… we are all in this healthier lifestyle journey together.

According to my DNA results, I was not getting enough sleep, so I'm making an effort to get to bed a little earlier and adding a sound machine to help keep me sleeping throughout the night. The food is very tasty and full of flavor, I love to try their suggestions that are found on the box, like adding some additional vegetables to the meal.
This program not a temporary thing for me, it’s about a lifestyle change, making the right choices of foods that work with my body. The DNA Kit included in the Rapid Results program has helped me to learn what may work best for me.
