Ringing In The New Year

Wishing You A Happy & Healthy 2021

December 27, 2020

2020 is definitely a year we will all remember. Personally, we've had many ups and downs, one of the biggest downs for my family was my husband losing his job due to the pandemic. As a parent, one of the hardest things is trying not to let difficult things in life affect the kids. Trying to continue living the way it was.  It definitely forced us to be more creative. We also had many firsts, like schooling from home (and so thankful for teachers!), learning to live with wearing facemasks everywhere including at school once the kids went back. Sports being put on hold, simple things like hugging friends, etc. I am so proud of how kids adapt to change. It's really amazing to see them just go with the flow even if it's hard for them. While life has brought us lots of change I'm thankful for good health and my thoughts go out to people personally affected by COVID.
So with this year coming to an end, I think we all deserve a little celebrating even if it's at home, why not make the best of it.

So who says you can't plan a party even it's just for five people including a toddler.
What does your family enjoy? Incorporate those into your night of planning.

Here are some ideas when creating a special night for the family:
-Playing board games (I'm sure you can even score some after-Christmas deals on a new one).
-Cooking a fancy dinner or maybe cooking a dinner where everyone picks out their favorite dish.
-Have the kids create a menu, decorate the table for the fun night ahead.
-Get dressed up or even make it a pajama party.
-Play fun music, make sure you have a dance party at some point, what's a party without some dancing!?
-Have a movie night (bring the movie theater to your home).
-Decorate the house (with balloons... lots and lots of balloons!)
-If you have young children and you don't want them to stay up until midnight you can celebrate earlier - even at noon. More information about Noon Years found on our front page.
-Create a jar with wishes for 2021 - Have everyone write some goals for the year, and in a year see if you achieved any of your wishes, goals, and hopes for 2021.

The ideas are endless. Whatever you do enjoy the night with your family. Wishing you a Happy & Healthy New Year!
