Green Mountain Energy Ice returns November 12, 2021 through January 30, 2022!
Safety protocols include increased sanitation and contactless ticket buying. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists outdoor activity as a less risky way of gathering. With that in mind, the following safety procedures and protocols will be followed to further minimize the risk associated with COVID-19:
- Tickets for a specific time must be purchased in advance online to ensure contactless ticketing and to minimize overcrowding. Tickets on sale beginning November 5.
- Skaters will be required to sign a waiver online after purchasing tickets. The E-tickets will not be sent until the waiver is completed.
- All skaters must have a pre-purchased ticket to enter the venue. (Skating guests under the age of 12 may have one parent or guardian accompany them. This person will be asked to stay in a public viewing area while the minor skates.)
- Expanded seating areas provide social distancing while changing shoes and skates.
- Hand sanitizer will be available for guests. Equipment and touchpoints in the facility will be thoroughly sanitized at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Ice rink staff procedures have been revised to allow for social distancing and monitoring.

Monday – Friday: 5-10 pm (Fridays open until 11pm)
Saturday & HISD School Holidays*: 11 am-11 pm
Sunday: 11 am – 8 pm
Christmas & New Year’s Eve: 11 am-7 pm
Christmas & New Year’s Day: 1-7 pm
*HISD school holidays include: Nov. 22-26; Dec. 22-31; Jan. 17
The ice rink will be closed on Dec. 19 from 4 - 8 pm for a private event.

Ticket sales support Discovery Green Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that depends on the generosity of park visitors and other friends to maintain the park and to fund free events held here every year.
The ice rink may be closed or delayed at times due to weather conditions. Call 713.434.RINK (7465) for updates and check www.discoverygreen.com for closures and other delays. Guests holding tickets will be notified via email and their tickets refunded if weather closures are necessary at their reserved times.

Bank of America customers and employees $13 discounted tickets purchased onsite. Proof of customer card, billing or employee identification required for entry.

Discovery Green members $13 discounted ticket purchased onsite. (If desired timeslot is full there may be a wait.) Proof of member card required for entry. Maximum 5 family members.
First responders & Military
First responders and military receive $2 discount for up to 5 people; must show valid I.D.; discount on tickets purchased in person only. (If desired timeslot is full there may be a wait.)

Enjoy the crisp winter air on the ice opening night! The first 50 skaters in line skate for free. (Don’t purchase tickets ahead of time.) Forever Green Members skip the line and skate for free 5 – 7 pm. (Maximum 5 family members.) Reverend Butter will craft an ice sculpture with his trusty chainsaw beginning at 6:30 pm. Sir Woman will perform from 8 – 9 pm.

Wheelchairs
If you are a non-motorized wheelchair user, you are welcome to enjoy the rink in your own wheelchair. You must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times while on the ice rink. Motorized wheelchairs are not permitted on the ice rink. Admission for the wheelchair user is free.

Ice Rink Events, a Houston-based designer, manufacturer, installer, and operator of ice rinks around the globe, transforms Kinder Lake’s model boat basin into a holiday skating destination each winter season at the park.
