Families should always want to encourage reading and literacy in every capacity, no matter the language or background. The access we have to some amazing libraries is a privilege and Houston has great ones!
As National Library Week celebrates its 67th anniversary this April 6th-12th, I'd like to recognize this longstanding tradition with a quick reference guide to Houston's libraries. Never before has 🔗 Macaroni KID Downtown Houston had an easy reference guide of the specific libraries we feature on our calendar that are located in Downtown/Metro Houston!
So here’s your reminder, that your local library is the perfect place for FREE indoor activity for the kids. Reading and community are such an important component of our kids lives and it starts at your local library. Save money on buying books and keep the kids entertained. You are sure to find an activity every day of the week, for you, baby, your tots and your teens…even the family grandparents.

My recommendation: We had a chance to check out the Stuffed Animal Sleepover recently @ Freed-Montrose Library. My son and I are fans. If your kids ever wanted to know what it's like to stay overnight at a library, their stuffed animal can experience it for them and it's a must try!
The team at this library is great with kids and the activity includes storytime, bubbles and dancing, table activity and you tag your stuffed animal and off he goes. The best part, you receive pics via email the next day of your stuffed animal's adventure! I had explained it to my son that we'd gets pictures and after school the next day, he jumped in the car asking about it and excited to see the pictures of his stuffed animal putting books away, reading and more!
